Arlene began directing for the television in 1985 and has since directed nearly 90 different productions. Her television work includes Pretty Little Liars, My Boys, Desperate Housewives, Medium, Boston Legal, Ally McBeal, and Malcom in the Middle. She has directed the films A Very Brady Sequel and I'll Be Home for Christmas.

She has also written and produced a handful of TV movies.
