Dean Lorey is a producer and writer for Arrested Development.


Raised in Georgia, Lorey attended film school at New York University. In 1990 he moved to Los Angeles where he began writing screenplays. He wrote several movies including My Boyfriend's Back, Jason Goes to Hell, and Major Payne. He also began writing for television including the series Brothers, My Wife and Kids, Til Death, and Arrested Development, all of which he also worked as a producer in some capacity.

He is also the author of the Nightmare Academy series of children's books.
