"Getaway" is a song by Mark Cherry written to tell G.O.B. Bluth, nicknamed "Getaway," to leave his posse. However; the song, despite its very overt nature, ends up being too subtle for G.O.B., who never realizes the message of it.

It was written by Arrested Development composer David Schwartz and Gabriel Mann, who provided lead vocals. It appears on At Long Last... Music and Songs from Arrested Development as a 2:54 extended version.

Lyrics[]

Oh, there's nothing to ya

Yeah, I see right through ya
You're losin' it (You're losin' it)

You're laughin' but you're tragic
Your tricks, they've got no magic
You're losin' it (You always miss)

Why don't you
Go away, Getaway
Stay away Getaway
Get away Getaway
You're hopelessly hopeless

Get away
Getaway

Get away

 From "Colony Collapse"

Ooh, yeah (Yeah, c'mon)

Oh, there's nothing to ya
Yeah, I see right through ya
You're losin' it (You're losin' it)

You're laughin' but you're tragic
Your tricks, they've got no magic
You're losin' it (You always miss)

Why don't you
Go away, Getaway
Stay away, Getaway
Get away, Getaway
You're hopelessly hopeless

Get away (Yeah, c'mon)
Getaway (It's gone)
Get away
Getaway, Get away

You wish you were for real
You just can’t seal the deal
You’re losing it (You're losing it)

Such a brown-noser
You’re nothing but a poser
You’re losing it (You always miss)

Why don't you
Go away, Getaway
Stay away, Getaway
Get away, Getaway
You're hopelessly hopeless

Get away (Yeah, c'mon)
Getaway (Yeah, c'mon)

Get out of my car
Get out of my club
Get out my bar
Get offa my rug

Get out of my boat
You’re goin’ too far
And on that note
Get offa my star

Get out of my car (Get out of my car)
Get out of my club (Get out of my club)
Get out my bar (Get out my bar)
Get offa my rug (Get offa my rug)

Get out of my boat (Get out of my boat)
You’re goin’ too far (You’re goin’ too far)
And on that note (And on that note)
Get offa my star

Why don't you
Go away, Getaway
Stay away, Getaway
Get away, Getaway
Get away

(It's gone)
Go away, Getaway
Stay away, Getaway
Get away, Getaway
You're hopelessly hopeless

Get away (Yeah, c'mon)
Getaway
Get away

Getaway
