Lem is Rebel Alley's biological son, and Ron Howard's grandson. His father has the last name Depardieu.
His name is a reference to the LEM of Apollo 11 that can be found in Ron Howard's office.
Ron Howard names his children after the locations where they were conceived. Rebel Alley and Gerard Depardieu presumably conceived Lem in the LEM in Ron's office.
