The milford school

The first shot of the Milford School

The Milford School is a institution featured in Arrested Development. In the Season 1 episode "Public Relations", it was introduced with its moto being "Children should neither be seen nor heard", which came from its founder. Michael Bluth was pushing to get George Michael into the Milford School. Lucille Bluth revealed later on that "Buster was the only one who ever liked it", which then lead to a picture of Buster in a classroom at the Milford School and obstructed by a pole, which the narrator said "In fact Buster so enjoyed the Milford School he stayed there three years after his graduation". The phrase "you can always tell a Milford man" was used humourously later on (by Lucille) as a reference to its moto and Buster's silence and act of being hidden.

Since George Michael is in middle school during this season, it is assumed that the Milford School is a high school, but the shot of Buster showed him at an elementary school level. Therefore it could be assumed the Milford School has several levels, from elementary to high school. Throughout the first season of Arrested Development, the Milford school is erroneously labelled the "Milford Academy", which is in fact the real name of a post secondary preparatory school for athletes who are preparing to enter college. The real Milford Academy is located in New Berlin, CT but originally founded in Milford, CT.

In the second season, Lucille sends Annyong to the Milford school to teach him a lesson, which she later forgot what that lesson was.
